A Grand Welcome

Courtyard

As guests step into Devprayag, they are immediately embraced by the tranquil yet grand atmosphere of the Lord Ganesha. This open, rustic space acts as the threshold between the outside world and the sacred, celebratory zones within.

The focal point of the Courtyard is the commanding presence of Lord Ganesha himself. A beautifully carved stone deity, His form is traditionally positioned to offer a blessing and remove all obstacles (Vignaharta) for those who enter. The Courtyard subtly signals that all events held here begin on an auspicious note. The space is framed by traditional, wooden pillars, a beautiful water body which may be adorned with simple, vibrant regional flowers.

Functionally, the Courtyard serves as the perfect "Arrival Zone"

Welcoming Guests: Ideally suited for a traditional, personalized welcome—perhaps with staff offering welcome drinks, applying tilak, or handing out programs. Its open layout prevents congestion, allowing a smooth flow into the inner spaces.

Intimate Gatherings: The Courtyard is an excellent, self-contained space for small, meaningful events that require a setting of profound peace and blessings, such as a quiet prayer ceremony (puja), a family-only ring ceremony, or an elegant reception before the main event begins.

Photo Opportunities: The divine backdrop of the Ganesha statue and the Courtyard's traditional architecture provides a stunning, ready-made photo setting that captures the essence of the venue immediately upon entry.

The Courtyard is more than just an entrance; it is a sanctuary that grounds the entire venue, setting a tone of tradition, grace, and blessed beginnings for every gathering at Devprayag.

A Venue of Tradition and Grandeur

Grand Stage

The Grand Stage is the majestic focal point of the venue, a substantial platform measuring 30 feet long by 15 feet deep. Its size makes it ideal for hosting events that require both visual impact and ample space for performers or ceremonial activities.

The dimensions are perfect for elaborate wedding mandaps. The stage can comfortably accommodate a homa kundam, seating for the bride and groom, and their immediate families, ensuring every guest has a clear, elevated view of the sacred ceremony. The rustic setting of Devprayag complements the sanctity of the vows.

For large-scale poojas or religious discourses, the stage serves as a powerful focal point, lending dignity and focus to the rites. Its traditional ambiance enhances the spiritual experience.

The stage offers a generous floor for classical Indian dance performances, musical ensembles, or dramatic enactments. The sturdy construction is ready to handle dynamic choreography and intricate set designs.

While rustic, the size and elevation make it suitable for formal speeches, award ceremonies, or organizational keynotes, giving the main speakers a commanding presence.

Behind the grandeur of the stage are two fully furnished, interconnected, air-conditioned rooms. This critical feature ensures comfort and privacy for performers, speakers, or the bridal party. They serve as private changing rooms, secure storage for valuables, and quiet spaces for last-minute preparations or moments of rest.

A Grand Pedestal which is accessible from behind the Ganesha, is a platform that is positioned to oversee the entire stage. During a significant moment—such as the completion of a wedding ritual, the entry of the bride, or the climax of a dance performance—attendants can shower the stage with fresh petals from this vantage point. This cascade of flowers creates a mesmerizing moment that elevates the occasion from a simple event to a cinematic celebration.

The Grand Stage area is meticulously designed to support a wide array of high-profile events, offering a perfect harmony between traditional charm and modern, functional convenience. It is a space built not just to host events, but to create unforgettable, elevated experiences.

Devprayag's Versatile Heart

Central Open Lawn

The Open Lawn stands as the inviting, centrally located heart of Devprayag, perfectly blending rustic charm with practical event flexibility. As the venue’s largest single space, it is the primary area for hosting guests and creating a memorable atmosphere.

Designed to comfortably accommodate events of significant size, the lawn can seat around 200 people for a ceremony or a get together. The surrounding environment enhances this capacity with rustic stone benches. These provide natural, charming spillover seating, allowing guests to mingle and sit comfortably outside the main arrangement while remaining part of the central activity. This layout promotes a relaxed, community feel, typical of a traditional rustic setting.

The Open Lawn is one of Devprayag’s most adaptable venues, offering exceptional flexibility to suit diverse weather conditions and event themes. The entire lawn can be elegantly transformed by using drapes to create a soft, stylish ceiling for evening receptions, or swiftly protected by a water-proof tent in case of rain. This ability to cover the space ensures year-round functionality, while draping and tenting provide an ideal backdrop for custom lighting and décor to match your vision.

A striking architectural highlight of the lawn is the Glass Gazebo situated along one side. This refined gazebo introduces a touch of sophistication to the rustic landscape while serving a variety of key functions:

It’s an excellent, sheltered spot for a welcome drink station, allowing guests a smooth and memorable entrance into the event.

The gazebo offers the perfect nook to seat musicians—such as nadaswaram, thavil, or mrudangam artists—who are central to any South Indian wedding experience.

With its unique aesthetics, the gazebo serves as the perfect place for a chic photo booth, providing guests a beautiful spot for keepsake photos without congesting the main lawn.

In essence, the Open Lawn at Devprayag is more than just an event space—it’s a dynamic canvas, ready to be tailored for anything from an intimate, rustic wedding under the stars to a grand, spectacular reception, all set in a stunning and accessible natural setting.

A Hub for Culture and Community

Amphitheatre

The Amphitheatre at Devprayag, with its capacity to seat around 70 people, is a truly versatile and evocative space that beautifully complements the venue's traditional, rustic character.

It has a beautiful hall and a stage at the centre of it. The seating, which is tiered and built with local stone, offers an intimate, natural feel. It ensures excellent visibility of the central performance area for everyone. The semi-circular design inherently assists in focusing sound, potentially providing excellent natural acoustics for unamplified performances, which is perfect for maintaining the rustic charm.

The Amphitheatre also has a small pantry adjacent to it to serve snacks and beverages.

It is a perfect space for conducting several important rituals in Hindu ceremonies like Vara pooja, Gowri pooja, Vrathams etc. Sangeet events are best conducted in the Amphitheatre because of its cozy and intimate setting.

The Amphitheatre is ideal for staging smaller, more focused cultural event like regional folk dances, traditional storytelling sessions, plays and theatre performances. In the evenings, it could be transformed into a charming outdoor cinema for screening films or a Ghazal mehfil.

It can host exhibitions which can feature smaller stalls for local artisans, traditional weavers, and organic food producers. It can also act as a small conference space that blends a formal structure with a relaxing, natural atmosphere.

The Amphitheatre acts as the cultural heart of Devprayag, providing a multi- functional space that respects the venue's traditional roots while offering a high- quality experience for both performers and audience members.

A Happy Place to Feast

Dining

The Dining area is a thoughtfully designed space that blends tradition with comfort and functionality. It can host up to 90 guests in one seating, making it perfect for large family gatherings and celebrations.

The design intentionally embraces a rustic, traditional aesthetic and features open sides that allow a continuous free flow of refreshing breeze. This not only keeps the area airy and pleasant but also helps guests feel connected to the natural surroundings, creating a more relaxed and organic dining atmosphere.

The high roof ensures excellent air circulation, preventing the space from becoming stuffy even during peak dining hours or warm afternoons. This focus on natural ventilation greatly enhances the overall comfort of diners.

Guests can enjoy their traditional South Indian lunch or dinner while still being part of the action—whether a ceremony, performance, or festivities taking place on the lawn or stage. The integrated layout makes the dining experience a seamless part of the larger event.

The Dining area is highly adaptable. For traditional seated meals, it provides a comforting ambiance; but when combined with the adjacent corridor, it can be easily transformed into an elegant setting for buffet dinners.

The adjoining kitchen makes it convenient for on-site cooking from scratch, or for serving food prepared elsewhere and brought in. A dedicated storage room within the kitchen keeps all ingredients and supplies organized and readily accessible during events.

For high-heat specialties such as Tandoor items or pooris, open spaces outside the kitchen are available. This thoughtful separation curbs the spread of smoke and grease into the main kitchen, keeping the core cooking zone clean and comfortable.

There is a separate wash area for cleaning utensils before and after the event, as well as dedicated rest rooms for catering and cleaning staff.

Far more than just a place to eat, the Dining area is a multi-functional, comfortable, and strategically located venue. Its open layout and seamless connection to other zones enhance the entire event experience.

A Luminous Centrepiece

Kalyani

The Kalyani is the venue's jewel—a traditional, stepped water body that acts as a stunning, living centrepiece.

The rustic stonework of the Kalyani lends an authentic, time-honoured Indian aesthetic, perfectly aligning with Devprayag's traditional theme.

When filled with water and generously covered with a vibrant tapestry of petals, the surface reflects the surrounding light, creating a shimmering, ethereal glow. The petals ensure the area is always imbued with a beautiful, natural fragrance, enhancing the sensory experience for guests.

A small, cute central stage is the most distinctive feature. Elevated slightly above the water level, it is a naturally focused area, perfect for intimate ceremonies. The Kalyani is a natural choice for the Haldi, symbolizing purification and new beginnings.

Guests can comfortably sit around the steps of the Kalyani, dipping their feet into the water, enjoying the music and the aroma of the flowers, all while being close to the main action.

Floating candles or diyas can be placed among the petals, turning the water body into a luminous pool of light and reflection. It is an instant, stunning backdrop for candid and formal photography, capturing the natural beauty, tradition, and romance of the Devprayag venue.

The Kalyani is more than just a water body; it is a versatile, traditional, and inherently romantic zone designed to be the vibrant, fragrant heart of all wedding celebrations.
